About Us

LaCave Suzanne Salon

Sue and her husband, George Lamarre, opened LaCave Suzanne in the basement of their Mary Street home in Attleboro in 1973. Sue was four months pregnant with their second child, a son, they named George. Being of Canadian descent George (her husband) named the salon for its location (“LaCave” meaning the basement in French) and after their first born daughter, Suzanne.

Within a few years the growing loyal client base quickly out grew their basement. The business was moved upstairs taking over the entire first floor of their home. Now operating with three times the amount of space, Sue working with her entrepreneurial skills, and the keen business sense of her husband, along with the public relations, companionship and love her father, who also worked for the salon, built their name and business to the point where they opened LaCave II, at 1182 South Main Street, Attleboro. The business continued to grow and LaCave III was opened in downtown Attleboro. LaCave IV soon opened in North Attleboro. A few years later Sue and George opened LaCave V in South Attleboro. With five locations, Sue's years of teaching, training and setting a standard for other salons to follow was paying off. Sue and George decided to do something that no other non-franchised salon could accomplish. They expanded their geographical area to include Raynham and opened up their sixth location there. Sue very much cherished her family and as they contemplated opening up a seventh location, Sue's dad died unexpectedly and her desire to expand died with him.

Sue and George then developed a different business plan. Their 5 year plan was to sell all but one location and relocate to Florida. Sue and George did just that. All of the salons were sold with the exception of LaCave II on South Main Street in Attleboro. Only the most qualified staff and who wanted to continue working for Sue relocated to LaCave II. For the past 14 years Sue and George have owned and operated the salon while living in Florida. Sue credits the fantastic staff for the continued success that we will enjoy today. Of course Sue and George could not abandon the business they loved so much. They opened a location in Florida, called what else but, LaCave South, in the Tierra Verde area. Their success continued on with this salon until they decided to sell it to their youngest daughter, Michelle.    LaCave South is now called Salon Mimi.

All of this started with a dream and became a life long road to serve the Attleboro's and give the best customer service one could give. Years of dedication and work and still offering the best we can. With 12 dedicated stylists, many of whom have worked for LaCave for over 15 years, we are here to serve all of your beauty needs.

Our Policy

It is very important to us for you to understand our policy. We at LaCave have been in business over 25 years.  Our mission is to make a difference in your life by guiding you to look and feel your best.  Our talented staff ranges in experience and talent, some of which have been with us from the very onset of LaCave. Because of the range in experience we want you to understand that coming to our salon is the first priority. Interchanging stylist rather than leaving the salon to try someone new is something we all agree and hope for. Many people feel "embarrassed" to switch. WE ENCOURAGE IT.  This is important as our needs change and the staff changes working hours and days.  So, please keep that in mind when you come for an appointment and look and watch.  Make no mistake though; if you want the same person of course we encourage you to book to your preference...
